This should help Origin reset the download and see any new updates or content ready to download and install. I just bought Dragon Age Inquisition and it wont even start the download. As far as Origin's compatibility with older operating systems I know that it runs fine with Windows 7 64-bit and newer. Then be able to download and install the Sims 4 game through Origin and play it if the system meets the minimum system requirements. Once the origin client is running you can then go to library to see games you have as well as you may be able to apply the Sims 4 game key to that account to register it with the account if it has not already been registered with another account. Then log into an existing account or register and create one. Origin is a game client like steam and should be able to download the installer from Origin and install it clean.
